| This is US reaction to the famine in Ireland. For many, family left behind were still there and now suffering. Part of this account is from Henry Marmion who worked on the toll road, in County Down. His account of the situation, was also printed in Irish papers, as well as newspapers across the US. However, the suffering brought on by the famine was so much worse than these accounts. |
