Deceased Name: Shawn Marmion CHAMPAIGN - Shawn K. Marmion, age 47, of Champaign died at 5:22 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at Windsor Road Christian Church, 2501 W. Windsor Road, Champaign. The Rev. Dr. John Sims will officiate. Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Dr. West, Savoy, is handling arrangements. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at the church. Mr. Marmion was born Sept. 17, 1959, in Urbana, a son of Michael and Janice Kirby Marmion. He married Karen A. Whalen on Jan. 25, 1980, in Urbana. She survives. Also surviving are his parents of Venice, Fla.; two sons, Seth Marmion and Caleb Marmion, both of Champaign; two daughters, Danielle (Scott) Derby and Tamara Marmion, both of Champaign; two grandsons, Shawn Derby and River Travis Derby, both of Champaign; one brother, Damian Marmion of Normal; his in-laws, Bill and Shirley Whalen of Champaign; and two brothers-in-law, John Whalen of Champaign and Bill Whalen of Oakwood. He was preceded in death by a son, Travis W. Marmion, on May 18, 2006. Mr. Marmion was a 1977 graduate of Central High School in Champaign. He was a lieutenant with the Champaign Fire Department. He was a member of the Champaign Firefighter Honor Guard. Mr. Marmion enjoyed cycling, running, guitar, song writing, poetry, event planning and fishing.
