_______
CLONALLON, a parish, in the barony of UPPER IVEAGH, county of DOWN, and province of ULSTER, 6 miles ( S. S. E.) from Newry ; containing the town and district parish of Warrenspoint
Catherine was previously married to William Shaw and had at least one son, Zachariah Shaw bn about 1820-21. She then married Arthur Marmion sometime in 1826-27. Her two oldest sons, Laurence Marmion and Richard Marmion were born in Dublin, at the Summerhill residence. They then lived in Warrenpoint sometime around 1830, most likely at Aughnogon, though we are guessing. We are also guessing when we say there was an annulment of her marriage to *William Shaw. This previous marrige is most likely why the illegitimate notation occurs on the baptism papers. We are sure that Shaw was her first husband. Finally by 1833 it appears they were back in Dublin for the birth of their first daughter Jane. Mary would not be born until they reached the USA and they had lived there a few years. She was born in Maryland, 1837.
The information we have is solelly due to the hard work of
Tom Cunningham. Much gratitude to him.

*we believe William was the Shaw husband's first name
